Cape Codernism

These paintings are the result of my walks around my neighborhood in Provincetown, MA and its surrounding areas. Inspired by the clear sea-side light and charming architecture I am interested in capturing the authentic nature of Cape Cod. These paintings are in a Neo-Modernism style that reflect the simplicity of mid-century artists such as Milton Avery, but also possess a developed quality influenced by early twentieth century Realists such as Edward Hopper, (both of whom were New England regulars).
